The CRY8500 Series SonoCam Pi is a portable acoustic imaging platform designed for precise sound-source localization, acoustic testing, research, and product development. Supporting up to 208 digital MEMS microphones, it combines high-channel-count acoustic measurement with real-time visualization on an integrated 8-inch touchscreen.


Its ability to perform both near-field and far-field measurements makes the CRY8500 suitable for laboratory testing, NVH analysis, mechanical diagnostics, airborne noise investigation, and sound quality development.

CUSTOMIZABLE & REPLACEABLE MICROPHONE ARRAYS

The CRY8500 features a modular microphone array that can be changed based on the measurement application. Available configurations include 30 cm arrays with 128 or 208 microphones, along with larger 70 cm and 110 cm 208-channel arrays.


This flexibility allows the same platform to be configured for different measurement distances, frequency ranges, test environments, and sound-source localization requirements without requiring a separate acoustic imaging system.

NEAR-FIELD HOLOGRAPHY & FAR-FIELD BEAMFORMING

The CRY8500 combines two advanced acoustic visualization methods within a single platform. Far-field beamforming enables sound-source localization across larger measurement distances, while near-field acoustic holography provides detailed visualization of sound radiation close to the source.


With the 110 cm 208-channel array, beamforming operates from 200 Hz to 20 kHz, while near-field acoustic holography covers frequencies from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. This makes the system suitable for analyzing everything from low-frequency structural noise to complex airborne sound sources.

OPEN PLATFORM FOR ACOUSTIC RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

The SonoCam Pi provides an open API for real-time waveform and video output from up to 208 channels, giving engineers and researchers direct access to measurement data for custom analysis and application development.
 

Users can integrate their own algorithms and processing workflows, including PC-based analysis using MATLAB. This makes the CRY8500 particularly well suited to universities, R&D laboratories, automotive and consumer electronics development, NVH testing, and specialized acoustic research.
